Blender Share

Please save your "Blender" models to the share folder so we can share what you are doing on Friday during class. We will be starting a final Blender Animation project on Tuesday. Those who didn't share their Claymation, must figure out a way to compile, render and play your animation sequence with sound and titles on Monday.

Textures and interface

For a huge, free source of textures, check out http://www.cgtextures.com/
Once there, you can find almost any man made or natural texture.

To apply these textures to an object in a more manual way, watch this tutorial about UV mapping: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFiPN4Z_Glg

For those who wish to use Blender on a laptop, watch this:

Mirror Modifier

I remember the last class before the brake some of you were interested in modelling a symmetrical face.

Here's a excellent tutorial for using it properly.

Rigging your Character

If some of you are really interested in animating whatever you have modelled so far, here are some great tutorials explaining how to set up a simple rigging system. I have followed along the sphere rigging tutorial and did what they said to do. I will see if I can post that blend. file soon.

To rig a simple sphere, watch:

To rig a more complex character, watch:

Good luck and Merry Christmas!!!

Adding Sound to your Claymation

Here is another GIF tutorial check out the Stickman GIF.
Watch your animation several times. Create a list of sounds that would enhance the understanding of the idea and connect the audience to you piece. Transfer your Animated GIF to Flash> File>Import> select file. Create another layer, or two for sound, File>Import to Library Sound, or use sounds available.

Claymation Sizing Problems?

If your animation is too large, first save it to the desktop on your computer and then resize it either by using the crop tool, or the Image> Image Size reduce the pixel dimention by at least 1/2 of the size to under 1000 pixels x 1000 pixels.
Here is a web site with a few sollutions:
